My Goodreads Review:

“This was an amazing conclusion to a seriously underrated young adult fantasy trilogy. Although it had been a long time coming for me to finally continue on and complete this series, I had such an amazing time reading each installment in the trilogy.

This book in particular was a bit of a rollercoaster. Similar to in book 2, I did feel like there was a decent amount of setting up at the beginning of the book that I didn’t love. However, the characters in this series have always been a strong point, and they kept me interested even in the slower sections. By the end though, I was riveted. The last 100 pages of this book were PERFECT, and I could not put it down.

Ultimately, this was a really satisfying conclusion. Fans of Cassandra Clare’s books should really give this one a shot because it’s an excellent parallel to the Shadowhunters world while still being incredibly fresh and fun.

EDIT: I’ve seen reviews that have pointed out that there is a lack of closure for some of the characters/their relationships. However, it didn’t personally affect my enjoyment, but objectively, definitely a big flaw in the conclusion of the series.”

Characters: 9.5/10

-definitely the strongest part of the series; large cast feel with great characters

-there wasn’t total closure for all the character relationships, although I didn’t notice this until reading reviews

Writing Style: 9/10

-definitely stronger than in The Shadow Hour

-pretty poetic and purposeful, especially at the end

Pace: 8.5/10

-a little uneven with long stretches of filler then spurts of action

-strong characters made up for slow beginning

Entertainment: 9/10

-good balance of light humor and intense action

-final action stretch was so well done

Average: 9/10
